Blankety-Blank Bloggers :~P

Out of all of the blogs that I follow (and the number has gotten ridiculous - I am a serial reader of all people-generated computer-hosted word) and types of blogs that I follow (I love GiveAway blogs - check this one out) my favorite blogs are written by the people that I know and love (or written by people that know and love someone that I know and love). It doesn't matter if they simply post a picture and include a brief sentence about it, they are the best!
I do love witty, sweet, sensitive, sarcastic, and/or informative blogs, but (though I love them; did I mention that?) they really don't bring the same anticipation to me when I see a new post awaiting that the Friends & Family posts do.

Not to say that my friends and family's blogs are not witty, sweet, sensitive, sarcastic, and/or informative, because they ARE, but you know the blogs I mean - those one-in-ten-thousand who win those really cool blogger awards...
Recently, I had a friend admit via blog that she is, basically, intimidated by those bloggers out there who can write a whole laugh-so-hard-your-sides-are-going-to-split story about what happened while grocery shopping that day. She even went private momentarily - I don't know if that was why for sure - but I know that if I couldn't read about her every-day happenings, I'd be really sad! (She is a great lady with an awesome family, I might add).

So, even though I so enjoy reading the blogs of virtual stangers (all are written by people who I am pretty sure would be great friends, if we ever had the chance to meet) that are listed on my sidebar, if they don't post pretty much once a week, I will take them off. They will vanish. (just from my sidebar, of course. I don't have those kind of powers :~D)

Ouch, I know, for sure. But I gotta clean out the cobwebs once in a while, ya know. You can't fault me for that, can you?

~And then there are those bloggers who I would/could/should consider friends now, because of the magic of the blog-world. They are those who I have things in common with, who I can relate to, and email a comment back to them when they leave a comment or ask a question, or vice-versa. I will hold a spot on my list for sure, cuz I know they're coming back ~
And if you do disappear from my list, chances are I am still 'Following' you - in the blogger sense, of course, not in the creepy stalking way...
if you are a friend, family member, or otherwise known to me personally, your blog will stay on my sidebar forever, come rain, shine, or complete computer meltdown.

Until you delete you blog completely. You may not have written a single thing since the last 24th of July, but your link will stay on my blog-scape until your blog-screen comes up empty, as blank as a fresh sheet of paper. . .
In the meantime, I will be waiting with great anticipation for your next update!

I so agree that I anticipate the posts of my real life friends much more! And they're the ones that never post! Sigh.

I like your method of blog clean up. You're a smart cookie.

Oh I'm glad I am safe. I don't post daily but I know we have shared some great conversations of missionary sons and lifes challenges. Thanks for keeping me around.

I too love the posts of real life friends but I love making new friends that will mean something great to me through sharing ideas. I do love your blog and will continue to come back and see what is going on. I think you have the cutest family, and you have so much to say that I can learn from. Have a great week.

How do you manage bloggling? I am really interested in what people do. I want to be part of the blogging community, but it takes SO long. I love to post, and I want to read what others write, because it's no fun if the relationship goes one way. But it takes hours to go through everyone. Not a great use of time. In some ways I missed everyone, but in other ways, moving was a nice break from feeling drawn to Blogger. I almost didn't want to come back. But here I am! Trying to figure out how to do it and stay sane.

I know what you mean. My sidebar only has family members---with just a few exceptions.

I was really intimidated by how funny so many people are on their blogs. My own sister is an amazing writer and I always feel so inadequate- and my life is WAYYY more boring than hers.

Then she told me, anyone (especially family and friends) who reads wants to read YOU. She told me to just find my own voice and be who I am- say things exactly in the words I think them in my mind. If I did that, the 'voice' would be genuine and that would make everyone comfortable. I think it works.

I'm not the funniest. I'm not the most interesting. Against all desire, I AM a Mommy blogger. And that's all okay.

Blogs from random strangers are fun and interesting (and I'm a random stranger!) but I agree that blogs of family and friends are the best. I have made quite a few local friends via blogs though so maybe the whole 'friends we haven't met yet' cliche' holds true.

I really like the way you wrote this. I feel the same way you do about family and friends. And "cleaning out the cobwebs", yes, I totally get it.

OK, so I'm back. You weren't talking about me were you?!!! Thanks for caring about me and my family. I love reading your blog too. And even if we haven't even met in person, I love and appreciate that you were such a big part of my sons mission! By the way...YOU are one of the writers that I am intimidated by!! But, oh well...I guess I will keep blogging, my family in AZ were all mad when I stopped, especially since Landry left. Take care.
