My Hubby Loves Me Chubby . . .

This Saturday I spent a good portion of the day baking goodies.

I was baking Brownies and chocolate chip oatmeal cookies for a fundraiser bake sale at the Spirit Lake park for Zerin Petersen on Monday, after the Spirit Lake Labor Day parade.

Every single time I try to make brownies from scratch they don't turn out so good. Not good at all.

And I wanted these brownies to be really, really good. So I had my hubby stop and pick up a few boxes of mix for me. I told him "get 4-6 boxes, depending on what kind of deal the grocery store is offering".

Yep, that's what I said. It sure is.

So on Friday, at Safeway, they were offering Pillsbury Brownie mixes - 10 boxes for $10. What a deal! I told him to get a few extras for our food storage.
(You do know that everyone's food storage must also include comfort food, right?)

So in hunting for more boxes, he and the Safeway manager could only find these:

Regularly $3-something per box. Nice manager man said he'd honor the 10 for $10 on these babies . . .

Yes, Chocolate Extreme Brownies. With Chocolate Syrup and Chocolate Chunks.

Now you fellow chocolate lovers out there understand. These are soooo good.

And my hubby KNOWS I am a Brownieholic. I have a real problem.
But, obviously he loves me chubby. Because a few extra boxes weren't good enough for his sweet wife (and kids. They can have some, too)

He HAD to get a whole case! Yes, I kid you not. This, on top of the 6 or 8 boxes of the regular Pillsbury brownies, which are fabulous in their own right.

An entire case. Twelve boxes. I probably would have only gotten "only" six.

Since I can't leave them alone

I told him that these would have to last for a whole year.

He said they MIGHT last for 6 weeks. Maybe. Since I am such a Brownieholic. (His words).

Judging from this empty cake dish, he may be right . . .
but - the kids, their friends, and hubby did help me eat them all up. . .

It's really bad for us now that my 12 yr old daughter has decided she likes to bake brownies from mixes. I don't lift a finger, and they show up on my counter. NOT good for the waistline!

Yes! Food storage does require brownies to be a part of it.

Mmmmmm brownies........ After all my time off, my hubby better love me chubby, cause that's what I'm gonna be!

Oh brownies are my major downfall. I bake them and think I can stay out of them but oh no!! I just find myself heading back to the kitchen for just a tiny sliver. The calories don't count if you just take a tiny bite right? But then when the whole pan is gone?? hum...I definitely do better to not bake them at all. or even purchase them.

I've always assumed everyone had things like brownie mixes in their storage. I kid you not when I tell you my parents have AT LEAST 30 boxes of the stuff:)

I've got an address handy if you need a place to ship those off too! I'm a browniaholic too! Add a little mint frosting and then they disappear really quickly!

As a self proclaimed junk food junkie, I'm jealous.

No batch of brownies is safe when I'm under the same roof.

You're making me crave brownies! I have never tried those Pillsbury ones, but I'm buying them next time I'm at the store! Another winner is the Ghiradelli box mix. LOVE those!

Please stop by my blog and enter some fun giveaways. I've got a really great one that's ending today for a kid's outfit valued at $113! I really need to get some more entries for it, so I'd really appreciate your help! And you have a good chance of winning too!!! :)

OH NO!!!! I bought a big 6 pack of brownies at Costco yesterday, made one package and in less than 24 hours the first batch is gone. This is a major problem!! It's just a good darn thing I have 3 big boys around here that are helping to eat them, so it's not just all me :)

This cracked me up! I'm not a huge brownie fan, but I love me some apple pie or cobbler. I've just recently started making apple pies, but cobblers I haven't mastered yet. When I do tho, I think I'll have the same dilemma you have with brownies! Yum-mee!
